Meditation with Beverly in the New Year

Meditation classes with Beverly Hosea are starting up again on Monday evenings beginning on January 8.

These weekly meditation sessions are open to all levels of meditation practice.  Our structure for each session will be a quick check in with our prayer intentions for which we want to offer the time of silence, then one half hour of meditation, after which we will look at a passage from the Gospels and discuss how that relates to our meditation practice.

Consider how Jesus was a spiritual master who was teaching his disciples through everything he said and taught and in everything he did.  All was to open their eyes and their hearts to the Reign of God present in their midst.

Meditation is a spiritual practice of listening, opening the heart and mind, discerning what is real, and having compassion for self.  Meditating together weekly supports our individual spiritual practice daily as we deepen our understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in the here and now.

Starting January 8, every Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Chapel at West Central Abbey.

You may bring your own meditation cushion and your favorite copy of the Bible.

No registration necessary, and no cost although donations will go to the Community of the Lamb to support Beverly’s expenses.
